Caring For Those Who Serve

The South Central Conference is hosting two important gatherings over the next two weeks.

For the first session of Nourishment for the Journey our guest will be the renowned author, Rev. Dr. Kirk Byron Jones. It will be held on Wednesday, August 26th at 3:00 p.m. central time. This session will focus on practices of clergy self-care during a time of global pandemic.

The second offering is for those serving as our front-line chaplains in hospital, hospice and institutional settings. Rev. Stephen Boyd the UCC’s Minister for Chaplains on the MESA Team will offer words of encouragement, strategies for self-care, and share about best practices in a time of pandemic. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, September 2nd at 5:00 p.m. central time.

Both of these sessions will be on Zoom. Please contact Stacey Silvey at the Conference Office – stacey@slumberfalls.org – in order to receive the Zoom invitation email.

Conference staff members are working hard to care for those serving in church and chaplaincy settings. I hope that these sessions will offer our servants Nourishment for the Journey!

With you on the Journey,
Campbell Lovett
Consulting Conference Minister
