The Bible is a library of 66 books and each in its own way contains wisdom for those who would follow God. Sometimes we are shown what not to do while at other times there is a clear instruction as to what we ought to be doing. Even in this age of truth being “everyone’s perspective,” the narratives of scripture need to claim our attention. Interpretation under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, of course, continues to be valid.
The Book of Hebrews 10:25 states in part, “Forsake not the gathering of yourselves together.” Last week I wrote about the importance of “connectivity” in our lived experience. Those who stay apart…grow apart, it’s a truism that is just true to life. Community, intimacy, and relationship require some level of face to face human interaction. This is, in part, why we have clergy luncheons, Associational meeting, and Conference-wide Annual Meetings.
So here is where I am calling you to sign up and attend our coming 2019 Annual Meeting set in New Orleans May 31-June 1. Let’s connect with one another in person.
We have a great keynote speaker scheduled. Rev. Ron Buford who led the “God Is Still Speaking Campaign” will be our leader. The Jung Hotel is awesome and very near to the French Quarter. You will be able to extend your time in the hotel at a very reasonable price. Following our meetings, you can have a vacation in the Quarter.
Registration information will be forthcoming on the SCC website.
May God bless you and keep you.
